Scooby
Burmese Python
Scooby is an 24-year-old
Burmese Python. She has been
with Matt since she was a baby
and could fit in the palm of his
hand. Yes, those little snakes
you see in the pet-store can
grow up to be as big as
Scooby… and she's still
growing! As adults Burmese
Pythons can be 15-20 feet long
and weigh 100-200 pounds! Something to consider before buying a pet
snake of your own! Burmese Pythons are the second largest species of
snake in the world, and are native to Asia.

Whether it's fear or fascination, people typically have a strong reaction to
snakes, particularly ones as large as Scooby. Snakes look "different" than
other animals, and they are certainly unique and interesting creatures, but
the differences may not be what first springs to mind when you look at
them. At a
Wonders of Nature show you will learn the answers to many
common questions about snakes: Do snakes have bones? Do snakes have
ears? What about legs? And tails?

After meeting Scooby you will most likely agree that not only is she one of
the "prettiest" animals in our show, but also that we have nothing to fear
from these beautiful animals and many, many things to be fascinated by!
